KazTransGas Aimak JSC is closely monitoring the consequences of the recent earthquake that affected a number of southern regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In light of the earthquakes that have occurred in the cities of Almaty, Taldykorgan, Shymkent, as well as Zhambyl and Turkestan regions, there are risks of emergency situations on the gas distribution networks of KazTransGas Aimak JSC (gusts of gas pipelines and gas leaks).
Starting from January 23 of this year, after the first earthquakes in the southern regions of the country, specialists of KazTransGas Aimak JSC conduct daily rounds to identify and eliminate negative consequences on gas pipelines and structures on them. So, during a planned bypass, a gas leak was detected on an underground medium-pressure gas pipeline in the village of Kainar in the Ordabasinsky district of the Turkestan region. As a result, 7 settlements of Ordabasinsky district were disconnected from the gas supply system. The start-up work was completed on the same day on January 23, and all subscribers were connected to the gas supply.
Also, in order to prevent actions after the earthquake, the operating organization “UMG ” Almaty” JSC “ICA”, within the framework of the contract for the operation of gas transmission and gas distribution systems of the Almaty production branch of KazTransGas Aimak JSC, checked underground gas wells (high, medium and low pressures) for gas leaks.
To ensure safety and effective response to possible gas leaks, KazTransGas Aimak Joint Stock Company, with the assistance of Intergas Central Asia JSC, has engaged the DLS-Pergam mobile laboratory to promptly inspect gas pipelines and structures on them for gas leaks and their immediate and prompt elimination.
So, on January 30 of this year in Almaty, employees of the gas network maintenance service of the DLS-Pergam mobile laboratory discovered a gas leak of an underground medium-pressure gas pipeline. As a result, 170 private houses were disconnected from gas. On the same day, January 30, specialists of KazTransGas Aimak JSC carried out operational emergency recovery work throughout the night aimed at eliminating the leak. Currently, all subscribers are connected to the gas supply.
Therefore, in case of detection of gas leaks, a temporary local shutdown of the gas supply will be carried out.
In this regard, we ask residents to be sympathetic to possible gas outages related to the elimination of gas leaks, as this measure is forced.
