On the evening of February 7 of this year in Almaty, specialists of KazTransGas Aimak JSC with the help of a mobile laboratory “Pergam” detected gas leaks in the Medeu district.
KazTransGas Aimak JSC engages mobile mobile laboratories of DLS-Pergam to timely identify and eliminate negative consequences on gas pipelines after the earthquake in the cities of Almaty, Taldykorgan, Shymkent, Taraz. They allow you to quickly inspect gas pipelines for gas leaks and their immediate elimination.
Immediately after the leak was detected, the Emergency Service of KazTransGas Aimak JSC blocked the taps at the entrances, temporarily disconnected 130 buildings from gas supply, where gas is used for cooking, as well as 173 private houses in the Muztau microdistrict.
Due to the fact that, according to safety regulations, it is forbidden to carry out work at night, repair work began at 8:00 a.m. on February 8.
Starting at 09:00, work has begun on gas supply to subscribers of apartment buildings in the square of Kurmangazy-Kayyrbekov-Panfilov-Tole bi streets in Almaty.
Excavation work is also being carried out to identify the site of a gas leak on an underground gas pipeline and emergency recovery work.
On February 8, gas supply will be fully resumed.
For reference: After the earthquakes, starting from January 23, specialists of KazTransGas Aimak JSC, using the mobile laboratory Pergamon, conduct daily rounds of gas pipelines and gas wells.
During this time, employees of the Almaty PF of KazTransGas Aimak JSC have identified about 15 gas leaks on an underground gas pipeline. 1074 gas wells were bypassed, and a gas leak was detected in 58 gas wells. All leaks were promptly eliminated, mostly without disconnecting subscribers from gas. On February 7, with the help of the mobile laboratory “Pergam”, two more leaks were detected in the Medeu district of Almaty.
