The first step to connect consumers to the gas supply system is to obtain Technical Specifications from the gas distribution organization to which the subscriber plans to connect.

An application for Technical Specifications (TU) for connection to the networks of the state gas distribution organization of KazTransGas Aimak JSC can now be submitted online through the eGov portal.kz using the applicant’s electronic digital signature (EDS). After processing the application, the finished technical specifications can be downloaded from the link received in the form of an SMS. The issuance of technical specifications is carried out free of charge (free of charge).

At the same time, it should be noted that due to the amendments to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Natural Monopolies”, the technical conditions for connection to the gas supply system issued before the amendments came into force (August 29, 2023) expire after three years from the date of their issuance, but not earlier than July 1, 2024 years, except for the technical conditions under which construction is carried out.

These amendments to the legislation were initiated by Deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan in order to release gas volumes from long-term construction projects to investment projects that are ready to start investing today.

This amendment will affect all categories of consumers and the new changes will eliminate the possibility of indefinite validity of technical specifications, providing a clear validity period of no more than 3 years from the date of issue. This will ensure more accurate planning and control over the implementation of projects, as well as prevent “imaginary” workload and shortage of available capacity.

Thus, all owners of technical specifications must take into account that the deadline for the validity of the issued technical specifications will be on July 1, 2024.

In addition, in order to reduce administrative barriers to providing access to infrastructure networks, access conditions were simplified in 2023: the number of requested documents was reduced from 8 to 4 for an application for the issuance of technical specifications, and the number of required documents was reduced from 14 to 5 to check readiness for connection to gas supply.
