According to the Law on Gas and Gas Supply, owners of gas-consuming systems and gas equipment are obliged to ensure their proper technical condition and safety.

However, despite the legislative norms, cases of carbon monoxide poisoning continue to occur, bringing with them tragic consequences.

In this regard, KazTransGas Aimak JSC annually sends letters to local executive bodies about the need to create a gas engineering inspection to carry out inspections of organizations engaged in the maintenance of indoor gas equipment in order to prevent accidents when using gas by consumers at home.

Akim of Shymkent Gabit Sydykbekov highlighted the problem, noting that only 3 specialists work in the gas engineering inspection of the Department of control and quality of the Shymkent urban environment.

In this regard, it was decided to create a state municipal institution “Shymkent City Gas Engineering Service”, where 50 employees will work. Responsible persons are instructed to monitor compliance with the requirements for the safe operation of gas-consuming systems and gas equipment.

KazTransGas Aimak JSC expresses its support for this initiative, emphasizing that such services should exist in every region of the country where natural gas is used. Consumer safety is a top priority.
