During the working trip of the Director General of JSC “KazTransGas Aimak” Bauyrzhan Askarov to Shymkent, a meeting was held with the mayor of the metropolis Gabit Syzdykbekov. At this meeting, important issues were discussed covering a wide range of topics, including network construction, modernization and security issues.

Discussing the importance of high-quality gas supply, Bauyrzhan Askarov raised the issue of construction of a bypass gas pipeline in the western part of the city with a length of about 27 km. This will increase the volume of gas supplied via the western route.

In addition, the General Director of KazTransGas Aimak JSC noted that it is already important to create an additional volume reserve for natural gas in the metropolis. This issue cannot be solved without the construction of a new AGRS-5 with a capacity of 250-300 thousand m3/h in the south-western part of Shymkent.

Another issue of concern to the company’s management is the transfer of the existing GRS–1 to the hydraulic fracturing mode, since it is located inside the settlement, which contradicts the safety requirements.

During the meeting, the company’s management received support from the akimat in strengthening the staff of the gas engineering inspection. This in turn will allow:

to improve the identification of consumers in violation of the requirements of the standards for the installation of VDGO. As a consequence – the preservation of the life of the population;
to instill in consumers compliance with safety regulations when using natural gas at home.

The General Director also expressed hope for the support of the Akim of Shymkent in the installation of gas pollution detectors and carbon monoxide sensors in the homes of new subscribers. Unfortunately, residents do not fully understand the need to install these devices, which can prevent the most serious consequences, including the death of people.
